Terms & Conditions
The rental agreement between you and Udaipur Ride. Please read it before you book. By booking a vehicle or taxi with us, you agree to these terms.
- You need a valid licence for the vehicle you rent, and to be 18 or older for a scooty or bike.
- In peak season, the final price is agreed on WhatsApp before you book, not taken from the website.
- Return the vehicle on time, with the same fuel level, in the same condition.
- Traffic fines during your rental, and damage beyond normal wear, are your responsibility.
- Your deposit comes back the same day, minus only charges we have shown you with proof.
01About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you (the “renter” or “customer”) and Udaipur Ride, a proprietorship owned by Deepali Chundawat and registered under Udyam (Registration No. UDYAM-RJ-33-0143518), with its office at 1st Floor, 32, F Block, Sub City Centre, Near Reti Stand, Udaipur, Rajasthan 313001. They apply to every booking made through our website, WhatsApp, phone or in person.
Our Cancellation & Refund Policy and Privacy Policy are part of these terms.
02Who can rent
- You must be at least 18 years old to rent a scooty or bike, and at least 21 years old to rent a self-drive car.
- You must hold a valid original driving licence for the vehicle class: two-wheeler (MCWG) for scooty and bikes, LMV for self-drive cars. For a self-drive car the licence must be at least one year old.
- You must share one government ID: Aadhaar (masked is fine), passport or voter ID.
- Foreign guests: please ask us before you book. We will tell you which documents we need for the vehicle you want.
- Only the person whose licence we have checked may ride or drive the vehicle.
Self-drive cars are coming soon. The self-drive car rules on this page will apply from the day we start renting them. Until then, we offer cars with a driver.
We may refuse a rental if documents are missing, invalid or do not match, or if the renter appears unfit to ride (for example, under the influence of alcohol).
03Booking, prices and payment
- A booking is confirmed only when we confirm it on WhatsApp or phone and share the final price.
- Prices shown on the website are starting prices. The final price depends on the vehicle, dates, duration and delivery location, and is shared before you pay.
- Peak season: from October to February, on long weekends, during Diwali and from Christmas to New Year, prices on the website are a guide only. The final price is agreed on WhatsApp before you book, and the price we confirm there is the one that applies.
- Most bookings need no advance: you pay the rent and the security deposit at handover. In peak season, and for outstation taxis and group bookings, we may ask for an advance to hold the vehicle. The advance is part of your total price.
- Rent is counted in 24-hour periods from the handover time, unless agreed otherwise.
- We accept UPI and cash. Please keep your payment receipt.
04Security deposit
A refundable security deposit is paid at handover for every self-drive vehicle. Cars with a driver do not need a deposit.
| Vehicle | Deposit |
|---|---|
| Scooty | ₹1,000 |
| Commuter bike | ₹2,000 |
| Royal Enfield and other premium bikes | ₹5,000 |
| Self-drive car, hatchback or sedan (coming soon) | ₹5,000 |
| Self-drive car, 7-seater or SUV (coming soon) | ₹10,000 |
The exact deposit for your vehicle is confirmed on WhatsApp when you book.
The deposit is returned on the same day the vehicle is returned, by UPI or cash. We may deduct only these, with photos or receipts as proof: fuel shortfall, late return charges, damage, lost keys or helmet, or a traffic fine issued during your rental. Full details are in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
We never keep original Aadhaar, passport or licence as security.
05Handover and return
- At handover we check the vehicle with you and share photos and a short video on WhatsApp. These are the record of its condition. Please point out any existing scratch or dent at that time.
- We note the fuel level and odometer reading. Fuel is not included in the rent. Return the vehicle with the same fuel level, or we charge the difference at the current pump price.
- Return the vehicle at the agreed time and place. If you will be late, tell us on WhatsApp before the return time.
- You have 30 minutes of grace after the return time. After that, late returns are charged at ₹100 per hour for a scooty or bike and ₹300 per hour for a self-drive car, up to one full day’s rent. More than 3 hours late without informing us is charged as an extra full day.
- Early returns are welcome, but rent for unused days is not refunded unless we agree to it on WhatsApp.
06Using the vehicle
While the vehicle is with you, you agree to follow the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and all traffic rules. In particular:
- Rider and pillion must wear a helmet at all times on two-wheelers. Seat belts are compulsory in cars.
- No triple riding on two-wheelers, and no more passengers than the seats in a car.
- No driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- No racing, stunts, off-roading, or use in any competition.
- No lending, sub-renting, or letting any other person ride or drive the vehicle.
- No carrying goods for business, illegal items, or anything that can damage the vehicle.
- Tell us before taking the vehicle outside Udaipur city. Some vehicles may not be allowed on long or hilly routes. If a daily kilometre limit applies to your vehicle, we tell you the limit and the extra-km rate when you book.
- Park only in safe, legal parking spots and always lock the vehicle.
If these rules are broken, we may take the vehicle back without a refund of rent.
07Traffic fines and challans
Any traffic fine, e-challan, parking fine or towing charge issued during your rental period is your responsibility, even if we receive it after you return the vehicle. We will share the challan copy with you. If it is not paid, we may deduct it from your deposit or ask you to pay it, and we may share your details with the traffic police as the law requires.
08Damage, accidents and theft
Damage
You are responsible for damage to the vehicle during your rental, beyond normal wear and tear. The vehicle goes to an authorised or trusted local workshop and the mechanic gives an estimate, which we share with you. You pay the actual repair bill. It is taken from your deposit first; if the bill is higher than the deposit, you pay the balance, and if it is lower than the estimate we held, the difference is refunded.
Accidents
- Stop safely and call or WhatsApp us immediately.
- If anyone is hurt, call 112 first.
- Do not agree to any settlement with a third party without speaking to us.
- Where needed, a police report (FIR) must be filed for insurance.
If an insurance claim is made, you pay the insurance deductible (excess) and any cost the insurance does not cover. If the accident happened while breaking the rules in section 06, or while drunk or without a valid licence, you are responsible for the full cost of damage.
Theft and lost items
If the vehicle is stolen, inform us and the police at once. If it was stolen because it was left unlocked or the key was left in it, you are responsible for the loss. Lost keys, helmets or documents are charged at replacement cost.
09Breakdowns
If the vehicle breaks down because of a mechanical fault that is not your fault, contact us. Inside Udaipur city we will send help or replace the vehicle as soon as we can, at no cost to you. Punctures are a normal part of riding and are paid by the renter; we help you find the nearest repair shop. Outside the city, we will guide you to the nearest mechanic and pay back reasonable repair costs against a bill. We are not responsible for delays caused by a breakdown, but we will adjust the rent for time lost.
10Car with driver (taxi)
- Prices include the car, driver and fuel for the booked trip or package.
- On the Udaipur–Ahmedabad route, the fixed fare includes NH-48 tolls, and our cars on this route carry an All India Tourist Permit, so there is no state entry tax. On all other trips, toll tax, parking, monument entry tickets and state entry tax (if any) are paid separately.
- City packages cover 4 hours and 20 km, 8 hours and 40 km, or 12 hours and 60 km. Extra hours and kilometres are charged at the rates shared when you book.
- A one-way drop is a fixed fare with no return charge. Outstation round trips are charged per kilometre, with a minimum of 300 km a day.
- On overnight and multi-day trips, the driver’s food and stay are included in the price we quote. You book and pay for your own hotel.
- A driver night charge of ₹300 applies when a trip runs between 10 PM and 6 AM. Airport and railway station transfers have one fixed price at any hour.
- The driver may refuse to drive unsafely, over speed limits, or on routes that are closed or dangerous. Please treat our drivers with respect.
- Smoking, alcohol and eating messy food inside the car are not allowed. Cleaning charges may apply.
11Partner vehicles
Some bikes, cars and taxis are provided by our verified local partners. We check that partner vehicles have valid registration, insurance and permits, and that they follow the same rules as our own fleet. Udaipur Ride remains your point of contact for the booking, and these terms apply in full.
12Our liability
We keep our vehicles in good, road-worthy condition and check them before every rental. Riding and driving carry risk, and you ride or drive at your own risk. We are not responsible for personal injury, loss of personal belongings, missed flights or trains, or indirect losses, except where caused by our own negligence. Our total liability for any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
13Governing law
These terms follow the laws of India. Any dispute will first be discussed with us in good faith. If it cannot be settled, the courts at Udaipur, Rajasthan will have jurisdiction.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page on the day of your booking applies to that booking.
