A clean AC car with a local driver who knows the old city lanes, the parking spots and the hill roads. You sit back; fuel, driver and parking are in the price.
Good for: sightseeing, airport pickups, families, anyone without an Indian licence.
Price: from ₹1,500 for 4 hours, ₹2,200 for a full day of 8 hours.
Self drive car rental
The car is yours for the day. No fixed hours and no route to follow. You pay for your own fuel and leave a refundable deposit.
Good for: confident drivers, couples and friends, day trips at your own pace.
Price: from ₹2,499 a day for a hatchback, ₹2,599 for a Dzire.

What you need
Licence: a valid Indian driving licence for a car, held for at least a year.
Age: 21 or older.
ID: Aadhaar or passport, shown at handover.
Deposit: refundable, from ₹5,000 for a hatchback or sedan and ₹10,000 for a 7-seater or SUV.
Fuel: return the car with the same fuel level you got it with.
Which one should you take?
We rent both, so we have no reason to push one. This is what we tell people who ask on WhatsApp.
Staying in the old city
Take a car with a driver. The lanes around Lal Ghat and Jagdish Chowk are narrow and parking is hard to find.
Kumbhalgarh or Mount Abu
If you have not driven on hill roads, take a driver. If you have, self drive is a lovely way to do it.
No Indian licence
Take a car with a driver. We cannot hand over a self drive car without a valid Indian licence.
Three days or more
Self drive often works out cheaper if you are driving every day and are happy to find your own way.

Do you deliver the car to the airport or my hotel?
Yes. A car with a driver picks you up at arrivals or your hotel. A self drive car can be delivered to your hotel, the airport or the railway station.
