It is one highway the whole way: NH-48, wide and smooth, with hills until the Gujarat border and flat country after it.

Before you go
Catching a flight: leave Udaipur 7 hours before a domestic departure and 8.5 hours before an international one. That covers the drive, one break and check-in.
Catching a train: Kalupur station sits inside the old city. Keep 45 minutes spare for the last few kilometres in the evening.
Night drives: the highway is busy with trucks after dark. We take night bookings, but a morning start is easier on everyone.
Food: the better restaurants are on the Gujarat side, between Shamlaji and Himmatnagar. Most are pure vegetarian.

Can you drop us at Ahmedabad airport?
Yes. The airport is on the north side of the city, so you reach it before the city traffic. Leave Udaipur at least 7 hours before a domestic flight and 8.5 hours before an international one.
Are tolls and state tax included?
Yes. NH-48 tolls are in the price, and our cars carry an All India Tourist Permit, so there is no Gujarat state tax. Only airport or station parking is extra.
Can we stop on the way?
Yes. Tea, food and washroom breaks are free. A stop at Kesariyaji, Shamlaji or the Adalaj stepwell adds 35 to 40 minutes and a small charge, which you can add in the booking box.
