Short answer

How many days do you need in Udaipur?

Most of Udaipur’s sights sit around two lakes, so the city itself takes one to two days. The places people travel for, Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur, Nathdwara and Chittorgarh, are each a full day out. That is why a good Udaipur itinerary is usually three days.

1 day: the old city, City Palace, a boat on Lake Pichola and the Sajjangarh view. Rushed but doable.

2 days: the city done properly, or one city day and one day trip.

3 days: the city plus two day trips. The best fit for a first visit.

4 days: the city plus Kumbhalgarh, Nathdwara and Chittorgarh, with no early starts two days in a row.

Ask on WhatsApp

How many days are enough for Udaipur?

Two days cover the city’s main sights. Three days are best for most visitors, because they leave room for Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur, Nathdwara or Chittorgarh. With four days you can see the city and all three day trips at an easy pace.

What is the best Udaipur itinerary for first-time visitors?

Day 1 in the city: City Palace, Jagdish Temple, a Lake Pichola boat, the Karni Mata ropeway and Sajjangarh. Day 2 Kumbhalgarh Fort and Ranakpur. Day 3 Eklingji, Shrinathji at Nathdwara and Haldighati. That is Plan A of our 3 day plan.

How much does a Udaipur trip cost?

By taxi in a sedan, one day costs ₹2,500, two days from ₹4,800, three days from ₹6,900 and four days ₹12,100, after our multi-day discount. With tickets and parking, two Indian adults spend about ₹5,304 for one day and about ₹8,444 for two days. By scooty, the rent is ₹400 a day, or ₹700 for two days. Hotel and food are extra.

Can I plan my Udaipur trip by scooty?

Yes, for the city days. A scooty is ₹400 a day with free hotel delivery. Eklingji, Nathdwara and Haldighati are fine by scooty for ₹300 extra a day. Kumbhalgarh and Chittorgarh are done by taxi. Two riders at most on one scooty.

What should one day in Udaipur include?

City Palace when it opens at 9 AM, Jagdish Temple, a Lake Pichola boat, the Karni Mata ropeway, Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace before 5:30 PM in winter, and the Dharohar folk dance at 7 PM. Our 12-hour city taxi covers all of it for ₹2,500 in a sedan.

Can I see Kumbhalgarh and Chittorgarh on the same trip?

Yes. On a 4 day plan they get a day each. On 3 days, our Mewar loop sees both with one night at Kumbhalgarh, from ₹8,500 in a sedan.

Are entry tickets included in the taxi price?

No. The taxi price covers the car, driver, fuel and hotel pickup. Tickets, boats, shows, some parking and tolls are paid by you at the counter. Every price is listed on our itinerary pages.
