We take the highway through Kishangarh, Bhilwara and Chittorgarh. It is wide, straight and the quickest way between the two cities.

Which car should you book?
1 to 3 people with cabin bags: a sedan is the cheapest way to go.
4 adults with big suitcases: take the Ertiga. Four people and four suitcases do not fit in a sedan.
Family of 5–6: the Ertiga, or an Innova Crysta if you want more leg room on a long drive.
8 to 12 people: one Tempo Traveller costs less than two cars and keeps the group together.

Before you go
It is a long drive: seven hours with one meal stop. Leave Jaipur by 7:30 AM and you are at the lake for sunset.
With Chittorgarh fort: add two hours. Reach the fort before 4 PM; it shuts around sunset.
With Ajmer and Pushkar: the day becomes 11 hours or more. Better to stay a night in Pushkar, or pick one stop.
Old city hotels in Udaipur: the lanes around Jagdish Chowk, Lal Ghat and Gangaur Ghat are too narrow for cars at busy hours. The driver drops you at the nearest point and your hotel sends someone for the bags.

Yes. The fort is 5 km off the highway. The stop takes about 2 hours and costs ₹500 extra in a sedan.
Can we stop at Ajmer and Pushkar?
Yes. From Kishangarh it adds about 60 km and 4 hours, from ₹900 in a sedan. With this stop you reach Udaipur late in the evening.
Do you pick up from Jaipur airport and the railway station?
